The founder’s of Big Daddy Jake’s, Creative Pepper Products are addicts. Today there is a name for people like that, it is chilehead. A true chilehead loves fiery, hot, spicy, molten, burning, blistering, sizzling flavors. Jeff and Sara Ward combined this addiction with old family recipes, garden fresh foods and all natural ingredients, and Big Daddy Jake’s was born.

Those old family recipes have been tested, enhanced and tested again to create the unique flavorful products you enjoy today. Big Daddy Jake’stm uses only the freshest ingredients, with no additives or preservatives, guaranteeing no compromises in quality or taste! (If we can’t spell it or pronounce it, we won’t eat it, serve it or sell it!)

Sara was born and raised in South Texas. Her Mother is a native Texan and her Father is an East Louisiana Cajun. She grew up on Texas Pit Smoked BBQ and hot peppers right from the garden. Years ago, when she brought Jeff, a Canadian boy from Ontario, to Texas and he tried Pit Smoked BBQ for the first time, he was hooked! (She still thinks that is what made him propose!) They incorporated good old fashion Texas Pit Smoking Techniques to further enhance the natural flavor of their products.

Who is Jake?

Jake is Jeff’s father, and yes, that is him in a nightie on the Texas Pit Smoked Hot Sauce label. To explain the nightie: Jake likes to play cards, but he doesn’t like to lose. On more than one occasion, he has been known to put on Jeff’s Mother’s night gown to …er….distract…his opponents and regain his winning streak.

Who is Pappo?

Pappo is Sara’s father, and he is on the Pappo’s High In The Saddle BBQ Sauce label. He was just 12 years old and standing in the saddle on his horse named Belle. The photo was taken in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1935. Pappo is responsible for the pit smoking techniques used by Big Daddy Jake’s today.

“As you can see we have a wonderful, colorful and supportive family. Both Pappo and Jake get a big kick out of seeing themselves on the labels, however, they are much more cautious about getting out the old family photos, because you never know who will appear on the next label!”

This is only the beginning, many more old family recipes are being tested and enhanced, and will be added to Big Daddy Jake’s product line only when they reach perfection.
